Green Valley Ranch Resort Off the Las Vegas Strip |
| LAS VEGAS - Dec. 4, 2001--Las Vegas has not seen anything like it.
The newest resort/casino slated for opening Dec. 18 will allow residents and tourists to enjoy Mediterranean style and panoramic "Vegas Strip" views unique to any other resort in this premier tourist destination. When the new Green Valley Ranch Resort opens its doors to the public, it will also open up a new world for vacationers seeking an elegant and relaxing environment.
To create the illusion of a grand estate existing for generations amidst the Green Valley Ranch hillside, SADI carried the old world influences and nature-inspired theme into the interiors of the project. Natural materials and textures create an ambiance of elegance in an unpretentious manner. With intensely rich colors, Venetian plaster, dry stacked stone, beautifully hand-painted ceilings and carved beams radiate a warmth so often overlooked in casino environments. Avjian designed Green Valley Ranch Resort's interior with a chic play on the year's four seasons. The "Race & Sports Book" resembles a winter scene with its masculine nature, dark wood tones, plush leather seating and elaborate marble patterns. The lush hues, richly stained wood planking and amber lighting tones used throughout the "Casino Promenade" impart the sensation of an autumn afternoon. The "Casino Pit," inspired by a 16th century villa in northern Italy, features vaulted ceilings frescoed in an Italian Renaissance garden scene, celebrating spring. Citrus trees and hanging planters overflowing with summer foliage beneath a tempered blue sky permeate "The Food Court," supporting its summer at twilight atmosphere. Avjian's strategic uses of color and lighting throughout the casino enhance the old world feel. He also brought in distinct European tiles, marble, flooring and fixtures, including exclusive glass light fixtures, hand-blown by island artisans from Murano, Italy. With 25+ years experience, Avjian possesses tremendous insight in the
design and architecture fields. His impressive career began at the prestigious
Sally Sirkin Interior Design firm in Los Angeles, catering to international
clients of high-end residential
Avjian then formed Scott Avjian & Associates in Newport Beach, Calif., working with Orange County's leading developers and architects in the development of many master planned communities. In 1992, Avjian relocated to Mallorca, Spain to oversee the restoration of Son Net, a 17th century villa. Before returning to America, he was commissioned to design and paint original frescos in La Cartuja, a monastery located in Mallorca. Upon returning to the United States, Avjian formed Scott Avjian Design Inc. and has been involved in a diverse range of hospitality projects. He has lent his design skills to such projects as Sunset Station Hotel-Casino in Henderson, the Santa Fe Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, two Hard Rock Hotel and Casino resorts in Florida, and St. Charles Station and Kansas City Station in Missouri. |
