Foodservice Veteran, Chuck Weber Joins the Upper Midwest
Hospitality Lodging and Restaurant Show Team

WHITE PLAINS, NY, June 17, 2002…As an extension of its partnership with Hospitality Minnesota to manage the Upper Midwest Hospitality Lodging and Restaurant Show (UP Show), George Little Management, LLC has retained foodservice industry veteran, Chuck Weber, as sales consultant for the event.

Weber will be responsible for Midwest sales efforts and client relations. He also will consult with GLM on development of the Show’s overall marketing campaign. “I look forward to this opportunity to work with GLM, whose background and expertise in the hospitality industry will make the UP Show – now in its 45th year – better than ever,” said Weber.

Weber began his foodservice career in 1972 as an educational trainer, developing training programs for several hospitality organizations. He entered the foodservice publishing field in 1981 and founded Foodservice News in 1990, which he operated until February 2001, when it was sold to Franchise Times Corporation. Weber joined Hospitality Minnesota as a consultant in April 2001, working with allied members regarding sponsorship opportunities.

“We are fortunate to have Chuck on our UP Show team,” said Phil Robinson, senior vice president, GLM. “His 30 years of industry knowledge, and personal and professional ties to the Midwest, bring a valuable perspective to our sales team.”

The UP Show is owned by Hospitality Minnesota, the umbrella organization of the Minnesota Hotel Association, Minnesota Restaurant Association and Minnesota Resort Association. Beginning with the February 2003 event, GLM will be responsible overall for sales, management, marketing, operations and registration for the UP Show, which will present approximately 400 exhibitors featuring products and services for lodging and food serving properties, within 60,000 net square feet of exhibit space. Some 9,000 registrants, including restaurants, hotels, resorts and institutional food operators from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota are expected to attend.

The 45th annual UP Show will run Sunday, February 23, through Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, MN.
