NEW YORK, NY--(June 28, 2010) - Cassa Hotel and Residences is
the newest iconic building in the heart of midtown Manhattan created by
world renowned architect Enrique
Norten of TEN Arquitectos in collaboration in with CetraRuddy. Offering a boutique
hotel experience of sophisticated style and quiet indulgence, Cassa
Hotel and Residences is rich in texture, contemporary in design, yet
warm and inviting. Its stimulation to the senses extends beyond its
tapering exterior, as the hotel casts a unique shadow that falls upon
the world class shopping experiences of Fifth and Madison Avenues, the
bustle of Times Square, and the bright lights of Broadway in New York's
renowned theatre district. Elegantly proportioned, the striking
exterior rises as an obelisk among its traditional neighbors, striking
a timeless new design statement on the New York City skyline.
Entering the welcoming and intimate lobby you'll encounter
black volcanic walls that are polished to a matte sheen creating a
uniquely contradictory texture that appears at once as a soft yet a
rugged wall surface. The boomerang shaped reception desk adds a bold
statement and a sharp contrast of color: think of a ripe red tomato
picked at its peak of flavor. There you'll be greeted by unassuming
staff that are eager to manage your every request.
Look beyond the reception area, where natural light floods
through a two story glass wall drawing the outside urban setting into a
vertical garden. Along a dramatic catwalk, you'll spy from above the
restaurant, 1945, which will make its full unveiling in Fall 2010.
Architectural developer and nightlife entrepreneur, Jesse Keyes, has
envisioned a chic modern midtown interpretation of downtown creative
cool, with design support and direction by architect Thaddeus Briner.
1945 integrates a voluminous sculptural setting, and diverse engagement
zones -- U-bar, Great Hall, and the Dining Room where guests will be
brought into a manifold of enhanced environments of rich fabrics,
lighting and sound experiences. Mad Men will live again,
better, healthier, and more vibrantly, with a menu focusing on healthy,
organic, simple interpretations of Mid-Century American cuisine.
Cassa Hotel boasts 166 elegantly designed rooms wrapping
guests in total comfort and luxury. Buttery cream colored leather
seating and ottomans are the perfect place to kick back and thumb
through a carefully selected collection of art and fashion books by
Rizzoli and Taschen, which are also available for purchase. Black
leather studded headboards, Frette Linens, robes and slippers are
standard throughout every room category. The photography of Irene
Mamiye graces every room, each piece an individual work of art. Bath
amenities are provided by Angelo Caroli including full sized soap bars,
fresh and lightly scented shampoo, conditioner and body lotion suitable
for men and women. Geneva provides the docking station for your MP3
player and 42" flat-screen HD quality televisions are part of the
overall guest experience.
Dean and DeLuca, a premier gourmet food purveyor and New York
institution since 1977, provides an in-room snack bar filled with a
sweet and savory selection of items to satisfy that late night craving,
the hold-over tidbit until dinner, or the immediate need for a munch at
any time of day.
