| SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Nov. 6, 1998 - Sunstone Hotel
Investors, Inc. (NYSE: SSI), a real estate investment trust (REIT), today
announced the promotion of R. Terrence Crowley to the newly created position
of Chief Operating Officer, effective November 2, 1998. Crowley will be
responsible for acquisitions, finance and hotel construction as well as
continue in his role as General Counsel.
Commenting on the appointment, Robert Alter, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer said, "Over Prior to joining Sunstone in October, 1997, Crowley was a partner in two major international San Francisco-based law firms and prior to that, he was affiliated with a New York-based law firm. His educational background includes degrees from the University of Southern California and Loyola University, Los Angeles, specializing in real estate law.
